WHY YOU & YOUR EMPLOYEES SHOULD ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP
Details have been finalised for Concrete New Zealand’s half-day workshops on the Health and Safety at Work Act.
The workshops are a ‘follow-up’ to those that were held in March 2016, shortly before the introduction of the Act.
THIS WORKSHOP WILL COVER
The workshops are designed to bring attendees ‘up-to-speed’ with developments around the Act, and will provide practical and informative advice on:
- The major requirements of the Act (a recap)
- Summary of cases decided under the Act, and how these compare to the old Act
- Implications of case law relating to the Act
- WorkSafe New Zealand’s observations over the past 2 years
- WorkSafe New Zealand’s view on issues not being adequately addressed
- Health related illnesses from dust and noise
- Update on pending WorkSafe New Zealand’s guidelines
- Overview of concrete industry specific issues addressed under the Act, and those requiring further attention
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
The workshops are targeted at all sectors in the concrete industry, including placing and finishing, sawing and drilling, ready mixed concrete production and precast concrete manufacture. Those who work outside of the immediate concrete industry (e.g. engineers and architects) would however, also benefit from attending.
